In this type of setup, you must leave the Ethernet connection from the router to the AirPort Express in place at all times. There should be a green light on the AirPort Express at this time. Open up AirPort Utility again and click on the Other WiFi Devices buttonĪirPort Utility will take a few seconds to analyze the network settings and then suggest the correct setup for the AirPort Express. There are usually four Ethernet ports on most routers, so you can use any of these ports. Allow another minute for the AirPort Express to restart again.Ĭonnect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN Ethernet ports on your main router to the "O" Ethernet port on the AirPort Express. Then, hold in the reset button for 7-8 seconds and release. To try the Hard Reset, power up the AirPort Express and let it run for a minute. The Hard Reset is easier for most users, and it accomplishes the same thing. Perform another Factory Default Reset or a Hard Reset on the AirPort Express again. and everything will work just fine.OK, let's see if the AirPort Express will work using an Ethernet cable.not WiFi to connect to your main router. the system will work fine as dialog will tend to connect to the less crowded frequency (usually the 5Ghz). IF a wifi router with simultaneous dual band is available. The lesson here is that nobody needs to spend more on a Airport extreme to get this working. Now the Dialog is now connected to the Vigor 2830 and is picking the signal only from the 5Ghz network and everything is perfect.Īll my phantoms are working perfectly and group playing is excellent. In the vigor, DHCP is disabled and it act only as a Switch. I have used the spare router (Draytek Vigor 2830VN) to create a dedicated Wifi signal operating only on 5Ghz (by disabling the 2.4ghz signal). I noticed that my Access points were only operating on 2.4 Ghz which is really crowded around here. I could understand interference, intermittent breaks in sound - but I would expect it to pass. Still wholly unacceptable for £3.5k of speaker to completely crash and burn if the wifi network isnt to its liking. Now they don't - I had to do one reset because streaming Amazon prime via ipad into optical switch and into dialogue was cutting out. Hi I couldn't say for your set up with wifi extenders and different rooms in the mixįor me though - mine were cutting out and crashing daily, multiple times is it worth spending for another network device ? So I'm considering the purchase of an airport express. I have got a solid network at home made of 3 WIFI access point.(Cisco WAP121-E-K9-G5) But my fourth phantom located in the bedroom is struggling to sustain a stable connection.
